Code Rood 2018
Once again I will take part in the civil disobedience action Code Rood. Last year we've managed to block the Amsterdam coal harbor. This time Code Rood take place in Groningen where the local people have been haunted by earthquakes due to gas exploitation for years now. Lots of bureaucratic hassle is preventing people from getting rightfully compensated for the damage to their houses. Protest after protest have led to nothing but empty promises by politicians that don't make their houses any safer. That's why we need to take it one step further and use civil disobedience to demand a quicker stop on the exploitation of Groninger gas and a much faster and fair compensation for the damage by earthquakes. Code Rood wishes to end the fossil fuel era as soon as possible.
I'm contributing with music, conducting the Climate Choir on sunday evening August 26th at the climate camp in Leermens, rehearsing songs that will be sung during the action day on August 28th. Please feel free to join this action or drop by at the camp. Your support is very much appreciated. Here's one of the songs (in Dutch) that we will sing.
